Fairborn wildlife control tip of the month:

What to do About Bats in the Chimney?

Why bats seek shelter in chimneys?
Bats are beneficial to our environment; if they get stuck in the chimney it is important to help release them legally and humanely. It is also important to know why they selected your home’s chimney as a rooster. It is because it’s warm! Bats need warm environment to live and when cols start increasing outside in the Fairborn animal control woods they migrate to some warmer place. In addition the fear of predators also compels them to leave the woods and seek some safer place. Therefore the chimney of your house is good for all the reasons.

Timing is important:
To remove the bats from your chimneys you have to consider the timing. Female Fairborn animal control bats make their roost in attic or chimneys. From the months of April to May the female bats give birth to its Fairborn exterminator babies. Generally one pup is born at one time. These babies remain confined to their roost until the end of summer as they are not able to fly. Therefore you cannot remove the bats in this season of the year as by doing this you will kill the Fairborn animal trapping infants.

For the exclusion:
When you decide to get of the bats from your chimney, do find all the entry points. Bats prefer to use the horizontal gaps to enter and exit. Observe the Fairborn animal trapping chimney thoroughly for such gaps. Do not seal the house until a single bat is inside.

Bat removing methods:
People use several Fairborn pest control methods to get rid of the bats stuck in your chimney. But keep in mind not all the methods are legal. You cannot kill or injure the bats deliberately so you have to adopt a humane way. Fumigation is also a technique to oust the wild creature but it also affects the other living beings of the house including pets and children. Trapping is also practiced by a large community but it is not a suggestible method due to high health risks involved in this technique. The only recommended way to remove bats from chimney is live exclusion.

After exclusion:
When you become sure that now no more Fairborn pest control bats are there in your chimney start sealing off the home carefully. Bats are so small that they can enter even from the hole of 3/8 inch; therefore you have to be very Fairborn wildlife removal expert closing all the entry points with a quality material.
